Teledyne FLIR OEM Introduces High‑Resolution Boson SX8 Thermal Module for Advanced Aerospace and Defense Integration

Teledyne FLIR OEM has expanded its longwave infrared portfolio with the introduction of the Boson SX8, an uncooled thermal camera module designed to deliver higher resolution imaging for size, weight, and power constrained platforms. New 8 Micron Pixel Architecture Enhances Imaging Performance

The Boson SX8 incorporates an 8 micron pixel pitch paired with SXGA resolution, offering four times the pixel count of common VGA class LWIR modules while maintaining a similar mechanical footprint. For aerospace integrators, this combination provides improved detection range and scene detail without the penalties associated with larger cooled systems.

The module is engineered for applications such as uncrewed aircraft systems, counter UAS payloads, airborne ISR packages, and visual augmentation tools used in both crewed and uncrewed aviation environments.
