OKI Selected to Lead JAXA Space Strategy Fund Project Integrating Satellite and Ground Sensor Data

Growing climate related risks, including landslides and ground deformation, have increased global demand for monitoring systems capable of identifying millimeter scale changes. Traditional satellite data alone has faced limitations in observation frequency and precision, while ground sensors often lack wide area coverage. OKI aims to bridge these gaps by integrating multiple data sources into a unified monitoring framework.

Leveraging OKI Sensor Technologies and LTS AI Capabilities

OKI will apply its ground based IoT sensor technologies, including its Zero Energy IoT Series, which has been deployed at approximately one thousand locations in Japan and demonstrated internationally. These sensors will be paired with artificial intelligence technology developed by LTS to create a system that merges wide area satellite observations with localized tilt and deformation data.

For aerospace readers, this represents a notable example of how satellite operators, analytics firms, and terrestrial sensor networks can collaborate to deliver higher fidelity situational awareness.
