Stratasys Selected for U.S. Department of War Additive Manufacturing Program

Stratasys has been selected to participate in the Department of War’s Joint Additive Manufacturing Acceptability IV Pilot Parts Program, a multiyear initiative focused on accelerating the qualification and deployment of 3D printed components across military platforms. Program Supports Qualification of Additive Parts for Operational Platforms

The JAMA IV program aims to streamline the acceptance of additively manufactured parts for use across Air Force and Naval Air Systems Command platforms. Stratasys Direct, the company’s parts on demand division, will provide production scale components that meet the technical, quality, and traceability requirements of active military systems.

Unlike exploratory additive efforts, the program is designed to qualify parts for real world operational use, supporting readiness objectives and reducing supply chain bottlenecks for legacy and next generation aircraft.

Additive Manufacturing Demand Expands Across Defense and Aerospace

Defense funding for additive manufacturing has increased significantly, with fiscal year 2026 budgets reflecting an 83 percent rise to 3.3 billion dollars. This growth is driven by the need for rapid part replacement, improved sustainment agility, and reduced dependence on long lead supply chains.

Stratasys systems are already deployed across thousands of aerospace and defense production environments. The U.S. Air Force uses Stratasys technology for applications such as microvanes on the C17 fleet, which have contributed to measurable fuel savings, as well as replacement components that reduce lead times and improve fleet availability.

Stratasys Direct ships more than 100,000 parts annually to defense customers and operates under AS9100 and ISO 9001 certified quality systems with ITAR and CMMC compliance.
