Hadrian Launches Additive Manufacturing Division to Expand U.S. Defense Production Capacity
Hadrian has announced the launch of Hadrian Additive, a new division designed to bring scalable, production grade additive manufacturing capacity online for the U.S. Defense Industrial Base. The initiative expands the company’s Opus factory platform to include additive systems engineered for qualification, repeatability, and sustained throughput, enabling defense programs to transition from validated designs into reliable, at scale production.
Integrating Additive Into a Unified Factory Model
The new division embeds additive manufacturing directly into Hadrian’s existing factory architecture, creating a single end to end environment capable of supporting mission critical components. This approach reflects a broader shift in aerospace and defense manufacturing, where additive technologies are increasingly expected to meet the same reliability and traceability standards as traditional machining.
Company leadership emphasized that the goal is not experimental prototyping but industrialized production. The additive systems coming online in 2026 are being built to support programs that require consistent output, rigorous qualification, and rapid scaling.
Leadership Focused on Industrializing Additive Manufacturing
Hadrian Additive will be led by Matthew Parker, Vice President of Additive Manufacturing. Parker’s background spans large format additive deployment, process qualification, and the industrialization of additive workflows for demanding aerospace and defense applications. His experience in transitioning additive programs into repeatable production environments aligns with Hadrian’s focus on throughput, reliability, and disciplined execution.
Strengthening Domestic Defense Manufacturing Capacity
The launch of Hadrian Additive builds on the company’s recent factory expansions and ongoing investment in domestic manufacturing infrastructure. As defense programs increasingly seek U.S. based production capacity for critical components, the integration of additive manufacturing into Hadrian’s automated factory network represents a strategic expansion of available industrial capability.
