Divergent Appoints Brian Erhartic as Chief Technology Officer
Divergent Technologies has elevated Brian Erhartic to Chief Technology Officer, marking a notable leadership shift for a company that has rapidly expanded its role in advanced digital manufacturing for aerospace and defense. Erhartic, who joined Divergent in 2024, has been central to the evolution of the Divergent Adaptive Production System, the company’s end to end digital manufacturing platform that integrates AI driven design, additive manufacturing, and automated assembly.
Leadership With Deep Aerospace and Launch Vehicle Experience
Erhartic brings a background that aligns closely with Divergent’s growing aerospace footprint. His prior roles include Vice President of Additive Development at Relativity Space and Senior Director of Dragon Manufacturing at SpaceX, giving him direct experience in propulsion, launch vehicles, spacecraft development, and high rate production environments. Divergent leadership credits him with accelerating both software and hardware advancements across the DAPS platform.

Advancing a New Model for Structural Design and Production
Divergent positions DAPS as a fundamentally different approach to structural design and manufacturing, one that compresses development timelines and enables rapid iteration. Erhartic notes that the team continues to optimize every stage of the process, from design through delivery, with the goal of reducing production cycles from years to weeks. For aerospace and defense programs facing increasing pressure to field systems faster, this model offers a compelling alternative to traditional manufacturing pipelines.
In House Additive Manufacturing Expands Capability
The company recently disclosed that it has developed and produced its own industrial metal 3D printers in house. This step strengthens its ability to deliver resilient, high performance additive manufacturing solutions for customers across aerospace, defense, maritime, and automotive sectors. To date, DAPS has produced more than 600 unique parts, ranging from individual sustainment components to full system structures for customers including Lockheed Martin, RTX, General Atomics, Saab, and Triumph Group.
